Started in 2015, the Whatashort Independent International Film Festival (WIIFF) has become one of the prominent short film festival in India. It's an annual Film festival held in Delhi, India. The festival is an opportunity to present one's work to the audience and experts from the industry at same the time. It would help them to grow as filmmaker and take a step ahead to a better professional space. They would get direct feed backs from audience and experts alike so that they can judge and revamp their efforts accordingly. The director of the film festival is Ravie Solanky.

Previous editions

The first and second edition of this film festival was celebrated online in the year 2015 and 2016 respectively. The first edition was quite successful online and got its major audience from United States. Indian short film 'Ujantali' won the Best short film award in 2015.

Third edition

The third edition of the film festival was held at Instituto Cervantes, Connaught Place, New Delhi on 8-9 July 2017. This edition received more than 400 submissions from more than 34 countries. The festival was opened by Bollywood actor Jatin Sarna, festival director Ravie Solanky and the director of Instituto Cervantes, Carlos Varona.. This year festival showcased five special films made by Delhi based Independent Filmmakers. These films include 'Sneh' by ScoopWhoop, 'Laal Taj' by Arun Jindal, 'The School Bag' by Dheeraj Jindal, 'Amma Meri' by Tarun Jain and 'Rage' by Ashish Balraj Sharma starring Jatin Sarna.

Festival witnessed 600+ attendees on both the days and the festival closed by Bollywood Actor Anurag Arora. Sri Lankan veteran actor Kamal Addararachchi's short film 'Silent Letter' won the Best film Debut Award at WIIFF2017

The third edition also witnessed the launch of their prestigious award 'Whatashort Young & Independent Creator Award' and this year's winner is Harshdeep Ahuja, a Delhi based comedian and viner.
